Anglers cast their lines on Lake Bemidji for Minnesota's fishing opener
As the sun began to rise over Lake Bemidji on Saturday morning, anglers once again made their way to the water to take part in Minnesota's fishing opener.
Anglers by the dozens braved chilly temps, a stiff wind and spitting rain to line the shore near the confluence of the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers for a chance at snagging a paddlefish.
The paddlefish population in Lake Sakakawea and upstream in the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers is the only stock in North Dakota that supports a snag fishery.
