DULUTH — A potential ice fishing world-record lake trout caught by a northern Minnesota man earlier this month has been confiscated from a Duluth taxidermist by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
The onset of cold weather has some people champing at the bit for ice fishing. For the past few weeks, my news feed on Facebook has been filled with “Friend” photos showing ice fishing gear neatly organized, rods stringed up with new line and tackle boxes arranged to perfection, not a single jig out of place.
WORTHINGTON — University of Minnesota Extension will host a tree assessment workshop from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, at the University of Minnesota Extension Regional Center, 1527 Prairie Dr., Worthington.
With several days of temperatures hovering above and below freezing, 32°F, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reminding everyone not to let their guard down when traveling out on a frozen lake, river or pond.
