With much of Wisconsin still experiencing drought conditions, some wetlands are less obvious than ever so state wetland officials are encouraging developers and municipalities to check first before proceeding with their projects, and farmers before expanding their cropland, to avoid harming protected wetlands.
Ducks Unlimited, North Dakota Game and Fish and Avery Outdoors are partnering to make it easier for young people to go on their first hunt. North Dakota families with young hunters can now check out a trailer in Bismarck full of decoys and blinds to hunt waterfowl.
The US Forest Service wants to know how visitors use the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. And to find out, CNNF employees will be talking with visitors and asking them questions about their stay and how they feel about the Forest, said Evan Miller, Lakewood-Laona Ranger District forester and CNNF National Visitor Use Monitoring program manager.
