TRNF hosting wilderness hike Sunday
Theodore Roosevelt National Park visitors will choose the destination for a wilderness hike Sunday. The hike in the park’s North Unit will be the last one of the 2010 summer season. Backcountry Ranger John Heiser is offering several options for visitors to consider, including searching for bighorn sheep, hiking to the Petrified Forest or a backcountry spring or venturing to the park’s most scenic bentonite ridge.September 03, 2010

Of all the fine times to be in the high country, there is none better than the month of August. Much of the snow has melted from the previous winter, or as much as is going to melt, the insects are mostly gone, and the fall snows haven’t yet arrived.
