Prairie pageantry. Morning in a chicken blind produces a show that exceeds expectations
CROOKSTON, Minn.--It's still dark, and we wait, patiently, for the pageant to begin. Before long, the prairie in front of us will come alive with the sights and sounds of male prairie chickens. They'll stomp their feet and inflate air sacs in their necks to produce an other-worldly sound females of the species hopefully will find irresistible.
