It only took half a century of hunting and looking, but an Alexandria man finally got his prize buck.
72-year-old Gordie Rachel got a 17-point buck that weighed just over 300 pounds. He used a hand gun to kill the animal. Rachel plans to mount the head and put it in his living room.
"We've shot several moose. I've never shot a big buck like this deer."
The taxidermist in Alec says it may be a record for the city.
