"Cody Leflay (12 year old; 7th grader) from Hastings, MN went out gun hunting for the first time on opening morning this year with his Dad and Grandpa (Mike Leflay & Tony Tix) in Cannon Falls, MN."

He went out in the woods that morning with no expectations! Well to Cody's surprise (and his Dad's surprise), Cody had the hunt of his life! Cody brought down a 14 point buck within the first 30 minutes after sunrise with a single shot to the chest! After seeing this massive animal fall, Cody jumped up, hugged his Dad and with the shaking of adrenline running through his blood said "Thank you Dad!" Cody's grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins were waiting for him when he returned home with his prized deer!

All of us celebrated Cody's success with a big pancake breakfast and listened to the story of the hunt be told over and over by Cody and his Dad. This is what hunting is all about! With no doubt in our eyes, Cody will be an avid hunter for the rest of his life!

The rack of Cody's buck was tall & had a 15 & 1/2 inch inside spread! Congratulations to Cody for having set the bar high for his Dad & Grandpa Tony! I am sure they would not have wanted it any other way!"
