The folks at the North American Bear Center near Ely have posted a bit of den cam video that they don’t want you to miss.

The video (above) shows one of the cubs of research bear Jewel trying to get out for a breath of fresh air and then trying to get back in again. You get a pretty good look at the little critter sitting there in front of Mama Bear and then trying to climb back up the big fur mountain.

“Our video editor calls it ‘the cutest footage to date,’” said the note we got from the Bear Center.

They say the month-old cubs’ eyes should be open within the next few weeks.

Researchers said they believe 3-year-old Jewel gave birth to a male cub and a female cub in a den near Ely, before an Internet audience, on Jan. 22.

It was the third year in a row that the Bear Center captured the birth of cubs on Web cameras placed in a bear den.
