Turkey clinics this week
Kevin Feind with the Gitche Gumee chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation sends along this notice of two upcoming wild turkey hunting clinics, one in Solon Springs and one in Superior:
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will hold two free turkey hunter education clinics in Douglas County this week. The first will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at the Solon Springs Community Center in Solon Springs. The second will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at the Superior Public Library in Superior.
These clinics are co-sponsored by the National Wild Turkey Federation. All turkey hunting basics are covered, including hunter safety, turkey calling, decoy use, blind use, how to set up for turkeys, choosing a good turkey load and gun, patterning your shotgun, scouting techniques and bow hunting.
No pre-registration is necessary.
