The wind calmed down a little from Saturday and gave way to a nice Sunday for anglers in the Alexandria area who took advantage of opening weekend in Minnesota.
Here, Corey Bokinskie and Rob Larson hold up a stringer of 10 walleyes and a crappie that they caught on Lake Oscar on Sunday. Chuck Bokinskie, Corey’s dad, said it was part of several other fish that they caught and released that day.
Chuck Bokinskie is confident that anglers who are looking for Minnesota’s most popular game fish would be well served fishing the Alexandria area.
“Our lakes are full of walleyes right now,” he said.
