Kamloops? What the heck are Kamloops? According to the Kamloops Advocates website:
Our Kamloops, known locally as “loopers”, have no ties to the British Columbia Kamloops Lake rainbows other than the name. Our loopers are really a domesticated strain of West Coast steelhead the Minnesota DNR first introduced to Lake Superior in 1976.
They’re part of an extensive stocking program with the MN DNR to offer anglers a harvestable fish for those that like to catch steelhead.
